Few things say "I love you" like a handmade quilt. If you enjoy creating personalized gifs for your loved ones, you need beautiful, high-quality materials. The Quilt Jeannie offers batik fabric online in a wide variety of colors and patterns.
Take a look at my selection to find batik fabrics that fit the color palette for your next project.
The term batik refers to the wax-resist technique used to dye cloth as well as to the finished product. To create batik fabric, craftspeople use hot wax to draw or stamp patterns on the fabric. The wax soaks into the cotton and prevents that area from absorbing the colored dye. When the dyeing is finished, the wax is boiled or scraped out of the fabric to reveal the finished design.
My selection of batik fabrics are popular with quilters because they are 100% cotton. Cotton is versatile and user-friendly - many cottons can easily be washed again and again, which is important if the quilt will be used frequently on a bed or couch.
The subtle color variations and vivid hues of batik fabric make beautiful quilts - instead of solid blocks of color, each patch has its own unique pattern and style.
If you want a classic look, choose bold, primary colors in reds and blues. For a more bohemian style, consider vibrant secondary colors like purple, orange, or gold.
